Trying a New Format

Following a discussion between the club and the Class Association it has been decided to change the format of the Carsington Open Meeting at the beginning of June.  

 

Originally conceived as a one day meeting, building on the good turnouts seen at other one day events, at Broxbourne and just recently at Barnt Green, it has now been agreed to make this a two day meeting but at the same time encouraging single day participation for those who prefer this. 

 

We have now added Saturday 1st June to the already agreed Sunday 2nd June

 

The intention is to hold 3 races on each day.  However, the first race will be a one race shoot out for a prize and races 2 to 6 will form a 5 race series of which the best 3 will count. By agreeing to this format we have achieved:

• A full weekends sailing for those who are travelling some distance to the event and staying over and

• The ability for those who want to travel and return on the same day to race and have a shot at the top prize

 

The entry fee for K1 Class members will be £30 whether you sail on one or two days and if we can reach a minimum number there will be a Class Social in the form of a meal at the club on Saturday night.

 

The 5 race series will form part of the Class Travellers series. (Not the one race shoot out)
